Equipping Your New Apartment

When a yuppie moves into his own apartment for the first time, there are many household tools that he needs to buy. Even if a yuppie will be moving into a furnished apartment, there certain items he will need. It is also good to own such items, as he will be using them for a long period of time.

Kitchen utensils are items some of the tools he has to get, even if he does not know how to cook. This is because eating out or buying takeaway food can be so expensive. It would also be unhealthy to have a diet that consists mainly of canned goods and microwaveable meals. He has to learn to use the stove and oven that come with his apartment. Some of the utensils that he will most often use are a cutting board, can opener, grater, measuring cup, a set of quality knives, several mixing bowls and a set of non-stick cooking pans and pots.

He might also need to get kitchen appliances if his apartment does not come furnished with them. A microwave oven is a basic useful kitchen appliance. If he cannot live without fresh juice, then he will need a juicer or a blender; if his day sucks without coffee, he will have to get a coffee maker. However, these machines can cost him a considerable amount, so it is best to purchase them one at a time.

He will also have to buy things like bed sheets, pillows, blankets, towels and curtains. He can choose these according to his personal preference for colour, design and comfort. He also needs to get basic bedroom items like a night lamp, a mirror and other items he deems necessary.
